Nic Gavalas was born in Augusta, GA. His father was a master tailor and made clothing for a living.
On June 24th, 1950, Nic opened a small 800 ft store on Monroe St. next to the Florida Capital in Tallahassee.
Today, over 60 years later, there are 3 stores located in Tallahassee. Now all three of Nic's sons and grandsons are fulfilling Nic's dream of dressing the Southeast region with the finest quality of clothing.
For 13 years in a row, Esquire Magazine has named Nic's Toggery, “Top 100 Men's Store" in the U.S. Our services and attention to our customers have also seen us ranked "Tallahassee's Best", year after year.
